There could be a possibility of nearly 3, 300 permanent jobs being created by establishing a casino in Kenosha, WI. The proposition was brought forward by the Menominee tribe.
Gov. Scott Walker is still contemplating on this though. The article " Walker says decision on Kenosha casino coming soon" on The Journal Times talks about how Gov.Walker is having doubts about approving this since there were reports provided by Milwaukee officials saying that there are job losses and loss of revenue in the tribe's existing casinos.
This is a great proposition since the number of people surrounding Kenosha area is rather large. The implementation of a casino will bring back crowd into Kenosha and possibly into Racine, a neighbouring town. Racine located a few minutes from Kenosha was once known as "little Chicago" and now it is struggling to bring in crowds. Although the nightlife is bustling, the casino could complement both the towns and even hustle in crowds from Milwaukee boosting the economy. After all, the Metra is located in downtown Kenosha and can easily bring in more crowds from various parts of Illinois.
